The innovative nature of Federation University has led to a groundbreaking design at their new Brisbane Campus.
Working hand in hand with Conrad Gargett and Norman Disney & Young, Fed Uni (as it’s affectionately called) has begun a new chapter in their history with the opening of their Brisbane campus.
Attracting international students was an important component to be considered, with the functionality of the space needing to accommodate for this. An open plan layout brought together with polished concrete flooring leads for flexible breakout spaces where students can collaborate together both formally and informally.
When a space like this is required to be dynamic, our versatile Advance LED is always the perfect lighting solution. Our luminaries were mitre joined to outline the hexagon shapes and wire suspended at the same height. This, along with the powder coated black finish, ensures the design is striking without encroaching on the spacious feel below.
At the back of the room, the well-planned reception desk uses a black secondary structure to make the wood finish pop and draw the eye. This mixed with our wire-suspended, black powder coated Advance LED, frames anyone behind the desk perfectly and welcomes visitors to the university in for assistance.
This amazing design means the future for the students of Federation University Brisbane is bright thanks to Conrad Gargett, Norman Disney & Young, and our versatile Advance LEDs.
Created from the ground up around LED technology, the compact Advance has been punching well above its weight since its inception as our first LED profile.
Although task lighting is its primary goal, this nimble fitting has been used in a wide range of applications, including highly custom shapes.
