As an internationally acclaimed RTO specialising in vocational and higher education qualifications, it’s no wonder Box Hill Tafe is chosen by over 40,000 students every year. In a 2015 student outcome survey, over 83% of students were satisfied with their experience at Box Hill and 85% were employed within 6 months of finishing studying, which is amongst the highest in the state. Striving to set you up for success and get you connected with industry experts, Box Hill Tafe is an industry leader and this may have a little something to do with their state of the art facilities.
Designed by Tectura Architects and the Waterman Group to inspire the mind, the Discovery Centre takes you on a journey as you wander through the creations and achievements of fellow students. Here, our advocate of task light, the Kleo LED, integrates beautifully with the ambient light and fashions a natural affinity for creation in the space.
While most things can be found online, a good library is still an imperative resource for students. Carrying the theme from the Discovery Centre through, cream circles have been suspended from a dark ceiling with short lengths of our Kleo LED scattered amongst them to maintain even light levels throughout. This creates a cosy, comfortable vibe that entices students to stay and browse a while.
With an anodised finish to complement the colour scheme and the warm wood textures, the only thing outshining the Kleo in the library is the Swerve. Encircling the computer stations, our Swerve LED creates a central hub for students to bring their minds together to build a better future.
Adrian Marturano, the mLight Product Consultant, describes the project as “a blend of different architectural elements which lends to a beautifully functional and comfortable space”. Adrian and the team were inspired by how the Kleo and Swerve LED’s were integrated with the different design components and we look forward to working with Tectura Architects and the Waterman Group again.
