We do our best work when we’re presented with a unique space, and few spaces are as unique as St. Michael’s Church. The hall is laid out in a large circle, with a central skylight and some beautiful stained glass windows, but the client also wanted some continuous light to cover the whole church.
The Polar LED proved to be up to the task, being wire suspended in two rings from the ceiling in such a way to match the star-like shape in the architecture. This was possible thanks to our ability to customise our luminaires with mitre cuts in order to create the right shape.
As the church is a haven many people in the community, from children to the elderly, catering to eyes of all sensitivity is important, so the Polar is fitted with dimmers to provide a comfortable solution.
And finally, uplights installed in the Polar’s fittings create a subtle shape on the ceiling, which along with the central skylight’s natural glow, gives the star that little extra twinkle.
